Snapshot Update
The Snapshot is a valuable resource for UCC clergy to introduce themselves to prosepctive calls and conferences in general. Frequently we hear that conferences or local committees don't understand the special skills of chaplains and counselors.
This Snapshot is a great way to share your skills and to become a resource to your conference. One goal of the UCC PCC is to help with visibility of the unique gifts and talents that UCC Professional Chaplains and Counselors have to share.
This is a great way to get that started!
The helpful information below will link you to tutorials on how to complete the snapshot and profile. These are intended to be user friendly and help you through the process. Please contact Stephen Boyd, the UCC Endorser, or the MESA office if you have any questions concerning the completion of the snapshot.
Information about Snapshot and how to create and utilize
this UCC tool from MESA:
"The new Snapshot is a tool for every authorized minister's visibility and networking with Conference staff across the United Church of Christ. Whether you are seeking a new call, settled within a ministry, or even retired, you can use the Snapshot to introduce yourself, your skills and passions to Conferences. Your Snapshot is created and used within the Ministerial Profiles Portal, where Conference staff can search through Snapshots by skillset (such as those noted below), by passion, by name, and by geography. Conference staff also utilize your Snapshot to retrieve your UCC Ministerial Profile from the portal; your current and validated UCC Ministerial Profile is the document that is passed along for discernment to potential UCC employers and calling bodies. Just imagine how God might use and multiply your gifts in the life of the church when you offer your talents through the Snapshot!" Create your Snapshot now in the Ministerial Profiles Portal. Check out the orientation resources for guidance on creating your Snapshot. Learn more about Search and Call processes in the United Church of Christ.
We were recently contacted by DrugRehab.com and they shared their web resource. For those of you serving in addiction and rehabilitation, please check it out and let us know if you think it is a valuable resource. They are open to feedback.

A Biography of Mrs Marty Mann The First Lady of Alcoholics Anonymous by Rev Sally Brown, MS, MDiv & David R Brown Clinical Chaplain Addiction resource:
It’s the story of the first woman to stay sober in AA (from 1939). By her example, and her national outreach, Marty opened the door for women to recover from alcoholism, as well as countless men.
She was also the founder of our country’s leading public educational resource on addiction, the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (NCADD).
Finally, she was the most important and influential voice in convincing Congress to support the founding of treatment centers for addiction.
Marty died in 1976, but this country has been blessed by her leadership and her enduring legacy.
This resource was recommended directly to UCC PCC by the author Rev. Sally Brown who is a friend of UCC PCC.
